Summerleaze is a farm in Wiltshire where I attended great painting courses tutored by Richard Pikesley, a really inspirational painter and tutor. There were real 'ah, I get it' moments when painting at Summerleaze. There was so much to paint in the farm but also in the fields and rolling hills nearby.

This was a view from Richmond Gate leading onto the imposing but unique Star and Garter home. At all times of the day there is good light reflecting onto the building which changes from bright orange to ochre.

this is where i worked for a while and used to have lunch sitting on the park benches watching people traversing the square. It was a real tranquil place amongst the noise of the traffic on the surrounding streets
